OVERVIEW

The True Tales exhibition originated from a book series written by Tom Baikin-O’Hayon. In these books, Tom selected a variety of historical figures and presented their stories to modern children in an engaging and accessible way.

Out of the 60 illustrators who contributed to the series, I was honored to be one of just five chosen to showcase my work at the Bat Yam Museum of Contemporary Art. It was a truly meaningful experience.

THE CHALLENGE

The text I received explores the question of which institution can be considered the first university in history. Interestingly, there are two perspectives on this topic. According to one view, the first university was established in Bologna, Italy, nearly a thousand years ago.

However, a more historically accurate account points to the University of Al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco, founded about 200 years earlier by a Tunisian woman named Fatima al-Fihri.
